Ephesians 1:15-16
For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.
Philippians 1:3
I thank my God every time I remember you.
Colossians 1:3
We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,
How often are you thankful for those around you? How about those you work with? I wanted to do something different for my Thanksgiving devotional post. I started by looking up verses that have thanksgiving in it. As I got looking at the verses, I was amazing at how many time Paul talked about being thankful for the people that he was writing to. It made me stop and think, do I really express my thankfulness to those that God has put in my life.
Really my life has been very blessed from even before I was born. I was born into a Godly family with a great Christian heritage. Growing up in my family I learned that family is not always blood. In our family and extended family we have several adopted children. It really doesn’t matter how you get into a family just that you are part of a family. Just like in the family of God we are adopted into his kingdom. (Eph 1:5). I am thankful I learned this lesson early on because I would need to rely on this when we move away from all of our family.
If you want to hear more about my family heritage below is a link to a sermon my husband did where he talked about my family heritage:
